The city of Liverpool has seen some pretty memorable things when it comes to the beautiful game over the years and now, we re finally back to a point whereby Everton can be called a legitimate force to be reckoned with once again. On the flip side, it felt as if the same was true for Wolverhampton Wanderers after the last few seasons they ve had but both clubs have hit hard times as of late as we prepare to wind down the current Premier League campaign.

The Toffees may not be top four contenders anymore but that certainly doesn t mean they haven t made progress. Carlo Ancelotti is attempting to build a team that can not only compete with their city rivals, but one that can also compete with the rest of the league. They ve hit a few stumbling blocks along the way but they ve got the right pieces in place to make something happen, and one more decent summer transfer window could be all that s standing in their way.

Gbamin has officially been ruled out of this one through injury with Mina and King being the only other two players who are considered injury doubts, with the expectation being they ll be assessed prior to gameday.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have gone from two seventh place finishes in a row all the way through to a relatively mediocre season. It s not the end of the world by any stretch and they still need to be given the benefit of the doubt, but questions are rightly being raised over what Nuno Espirito Santo can still bring to the table. Is he really an elite manager at this level, or did he ride high off of some seriously talented players?

Podence has now gone down with an injury that is set to rule him out for the remainder of the season. He ll be joining Jonny, Jimenez and Neto on the shelf with one of the biggest remaining questions being whether or not Otasowie will return from injury in time to feature.

While both teams have had their moments in the sunshine so far this season, both have fallen off the edge of a cliff heading into the final furlong. Everton seem to be running out of ideas across the pitch whereas Wolves haven t really had any since Raul Jimenez went down through injury. We think both sides will manage to get on the scoresheet purely based on some of their individual quality, but it ll dwindle out and end in a somewhat anti-climactic 1-1 draw.
