Ronaldo walk-off labelled ´unacceptable´ by Lineker as Ten Hag prepares to deal with Man Utd star

Cristiano Ronaldo displayed unacceptable behaviour by walking off as Manchester United were putting the finishing touches to a victory over Tottenham, according to Gary Lineker.

The Portugal great, who was an unused substitute in Wednesday night s game at Old Trafford, walked along the touchline and down the tunnel before full-time.

According to a report in The Athletic, Ronaldo kept going and immediately left the stadium, rather than celebrate with team-mates after what was arguably the team s best performance of the season.

United were excellent as they secured a sixth Premier League win of the season to go fifth in the table, thriving without having to call on the 37-year-old Ronaldo.

The fixture was one in which Ronaldo hit a hat-trick last season, bu…

Sidwell, Duff among Fulham departures

Midfield duo Steve Sidwell and Damien Duff will leave relegated Fulham, the club has announced.

Central midfielder Sidwell was one of Fulham s best players this season, featuring in every single Premier League match and scoring seven goals.

The 31-year-old who initially joined Fulham on loan from Aston Villa in January 2011 was unable to prevent Fulham dropping to the second tier of English football for the first time since 2001 though.

He is not the only big name to leave Craven Cottage, with winger Duff ending his five-year association with the club.

Duff a member of Fulham s team that reached the 2010 UEFA Europa League final scored 22 goals in 173 matches for Fulham, but had not featured since February due to injuries.

King Kenny to become Sir King Kenny?

Sir King Kenny

If a group of MPs get their way, Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish will soon join Sir Alex Ferguson as a knight of the realm. Thirteen members of parliament have now signed a House of Commons motion calling for Dalglish to be knighted.

Motion

The MP for Liverpool Walton, Steve Rotherham, raised the motion on the twenty-second anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster, saying it would be a fitting tribute to the families of the ninety-six people who died in the tragic events of 1989.

If the motion achieves it s objective, Dalglish would receive the award for an outstanding contribution to British football .

On that awful day, 15th April 1989, Dalglish was the Liverpool manager. The fans were crushed during the FA Cup semi-final and footbal…

Bayern Munich 0 Borussia Dortmund 0 (AET, 4-3 pens): Guardiola´s reign ends in victory

Pep Guardiola s last match as Bayern Munich boss ended in a dramatic penalty shoot-out victory over Borussia Dortmund in the DFB-Pokal final on Saturday.

A 0-0 draw after extra-time ensured the contest was decided by spot-kicks, Bayern winning 4-3 as Manuel Neuer s save from Sven Bender and Sokratis strike against the post proved decisive, meaning Joshua Kimmich s miss went unpunished.

The victory ensures Bayern win a record 18th Pokal trophy as Guardiola finishes his three years in charge with an impressive double prior to joining Manchester City.

Dortmund are now without a major trophy for four seasons. They have lost three consecutive Pokal finals, the 2013 Champions League final and finished runners-up in the Bundesliga three times in the last four years.

Routledge signs one-year Swansea extension

Swansea City winger Wayne Routledge has signed a one-year contract extension, the Premier League club have confirmed.

The 29-year-old joined Swansea in 2011 after leaving Newcastle United and had just under three years remaining on his previous deal.

Routledge s contract was set to expire at the end of June 2017, but the Welsh outfit have rewarded him with an extension after an impressive start to the season.

The former England Under-21 international provided an assist for Gylfi Sigurdsson in a victory against Manchester United in their first top-flight clash of the campaign, then saw his strike against West Brom nominated for goal of the month in August.
