29th May: Saturday’s Football Accumulator – 8/1

Although Europe s top-tiers might have drawn to a close for another campaign, that doesn t mean we re short of footballing action from across the globe. On that note, for those of you looking to stick on a football acca, we have found a handful of helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out for throughout Saturday.

Saturday 29th May

BST 15:00 Brentford vs Swansea

Managing to mount a stunning turnaround against Bournemouth in the semi-finals, Brentford will be desperate to go one step further this time around. Eventually landing themselves an action-packed 3-1 win against The Cherries in West London last weekend, Thomas Frank s men are tipped by many to book themselves a maiden Premier League campaign at Wembley. Left with play-off heartbreak after watching local rivals Fulham stun them at this stage last year, The Bees have enjoyed a largely impressive end to the campaign. Led by the red-hot Ivan Toney who has only broken a host of records on route to lifting the Golden Boot, Brentford won each of their final four regular-season Championship matchups. Landing themselves a 2-0 win against Watford on their recent purple patch, the mood in their camp should be at a real high. On the flip side, although Swansea might have managed to sneak past shock outfit Barnsley in the semi-finals, they have struggled to find their best form at the back end of the 2020/21 campaign. Eventually playing out a 1-1 draw against The Tykes in South Wales last weekend and many feeling they were lucky to book Saturday s showdown, Steve Cooper s side have managed to win just a pair of their last seven contests. Also signing off their regular-season run with a deserved 2-0 defeat against top-fight returners Watford earlier in the month, we re backing more play-off heartbreak for Swansea in the capital.

Tip: Brentford win under four goals @ 13/10

16:00 Bohemians vs Waterford

While Bohemians might have suffered that disappointing 2-1 defeat against St Patrick s Athletic last week, Keith Long s men certainly bounced back in some style on Monday. Putting in what was a thumping display on home soil, the Dublin-based outfit landed a stunning 5-1 romp against defending champions Dundalk at Dalymount Park. In a performance that was billed as their best of the season, The Bohs also proved that last week s defeat was just a minor blip. With 24-year-old Georgie Kelly bagging himself a hat-trick earlier in the week and leaving with the match ball, Saturday s hosts have collected nine points from just their last four Premier Division contests. In fact, losing just one of their last five top-flight matchups, including a thumping 4-0 win against the Finn Harps on May 8th, it should also be noted that Bohemians have landed themselves nine goals in their back-to-back wins on home soil. Also picking up a 1-0 win when they faced off against Saturday s guests last month, Kelly s men should be looking to lay down a similar marker. On the flip side, while the mood in Bohemians camp is at a real high, Waterford find themselves in the midst of a real Premier Division nightmare. Last seen getting hit with a 2-1 defeat against the Finn Harps, The Blues have lost each of their last six top-flight matchups on the bounce. With that run highlighted by a dreadful 7-0 drumming against Drogheda earlier in the month, we re backing another tough afternoon for Waterford.

Tip: Bohemians win by 2+ goals @ 20/21

20:00 Cincinnati vs New England Revolution

Starting with Saturday s guests, putting in another eye-catching display last weekend, New England have impressed many across the MLS since opening the 2021 campaign. Enduring what was a lackluster season last time out, The Revs have really hit the ground running and have already skyrocketed their way to the top of the Eastern Conference. Keeping the mood in their camp at a real high after landing a 3-1 win against the New York Red Bulls on home soil, Bruce Arena s side have continued to build off of their late resurge last season. Including back-to-back MLS victories, New England have bagged themselves 14 points from their opening seven matchups, landing wins against the likes of Atalanta and Columbus Crew. As for Saturday s hosts, despite landing themselves a 2-1 win against Montreal last time out, it does not cover what has been a hugely worrying start for Cincinnati. Still rooted at the foot of the table, former Manchester United defender Jaap Stam has seen his side gain a real reputation for their rather glaring issues on home soil. Including a 3-2 defeat against Inter Miami earlier in the month, they have lost each of their last six straight home fixtures continuing on from last season. With New England landing themselves a 2-0 win when the two sides last faced off in Ohio, we re backing what could be another long night s work for Stam s side this weekend.

Tip: New England Revolution win @ 1/1
