Javier Hernandez has revealed he turned down a Spanish club and two Italian clubs to join West Ham.
West Ham completed a £16million deal to sign the Mexico striker from Bayer Leverkusen on Monday.
And, speaking at a media conference, Hernandez said: I had other options. One in Spain, two in Italy. There were options. In the last two transfers I made it on the last day, now it was more calm, more easy.
Thankfully I m here in West Ham where I wanted to be, hopefully I can make a very good season and make a lot of good performances so that all the people will be very happy.
Manager Slaven Bilic tried and failed to lure Hernandez to West Ham when he left Manchester United for Leverkusen in 2015, having spent the previous season on loan at Real Madrid.

Manchester United are apparently keen to part ways permanently with Alexis Sanchez this summer. As reported by , they are already sounding out potential buyers for the Chilean misfit.
The 31-year-old forward, who used to play for Udinese, Barcelona and Arsenal before joining United in a swap deal involving Henrikh Mkhitaryan in January 2018, is currently on a season-long loan at Inter Milan. Market: Guarani win
Odds: 7/10 @
Hoping to make an immediate return to winning ways this weekend, Guarani will welcome Londrina to the Brinco de Ouro da Princesa on Saturday afternoon.
Starting with the hosts, putting in a flat performance last weekend as they suffered a 1-0 loss away at Botafogo, Bruno Pivetti’s side will be looking to claim an immediate boost here. Although the Sao Paulo-based outfit might have recorded just a pair of wins from any of their last nine Serie B appearances there is no doubt that the Bugre will be glad to make a return to home soil on Saturday afternoon. Last seen at the Brinco de Ouro da Princesa picking up a lively 2-1 victory against Mirassol, Guarani have recorded back-to-back wins in front of their own supporters and they h…
England defender Lucy Bronze admitted it is a “shame” women often find themselves entrenched in battles for change amid reports the Lionesses are unhappy with the situation around performance-related bonuses at the World Cup.
Bronze and her team-mates arrived in Australia on Friday to begin preparations for this summer’s showpiece, which under a new model will see players guaranteed remuneration directly from FIFA with amounts increasing the deeper teams go in the tournament. They range from 30,000 US dollars (£23,367) per athlete for the group stage to USD 270,000 (£210,305) allotted to each champion.
Previously, it was up to individual national governing bodies to decide how money was allocated, with some still agreeing to fund additional payments in 2023 beyon…
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has insisted that Fernando Torres will not be sold this summer, .
The 30 year old has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge following the arrival of international teammate Diego Costa, who he replaced as a substitute twice at this summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil.
However, with Demba Ba and Samuel Eto’o having moved on in the close season, his manager has insisted that he does have a future at the club.
The former Atletico Madrid man has scored just twenty league goals since securing a £50m move from Liverpool half way through the 2010/11 campaign, adding a further twenty-five in cup competitions.
Despite that low tally, he has tasted success in the FA Cup, Champions League and Europa League, and will…
Ghana defender John Mensah s late red card against Botswana did not dampen his excitement at scoring the winning goal on Tuesday.
The captain received his second career African Nations Cup red card for a professional foul on the Botswana s Jerome Ramatlhakwane, who was clear on goal mid-way through the second half.
Mensah will miss the two remaining Group D games against Mali and Guinea as a result, but was still pleased with the end result of the match.

Competition: FA Cup
Market: Man Utd to win against Arsenal
Odds:
Manchester United host Arsenal in the FA Cup quarter-finals, with the Red Devils looking to make the semi-finals of the competition for the first time since 2011. Louis van Gaal’s side have had an easy ride to make it this far, beating Yeovil Town, Cambridge United and Preston North End en route to the quarter-finals.
Arsenal, who are the FA Cup holders, will provide a major threat to United, but the hosts have a good track record against Arsenal in all competitions.
